Traditional Ikats.. vintage collection

This is an incredible selection of traditional hand woven vintage ikats from various Indonesian islands. They were collected by LoU in the late 20th and early 21st century. They are only now being pulled directly from his original collection and are all very well preserved. They range in size from table runners and wraps to very large throws. They can also be used to create pillows and other numerous applications.

All of these treasured ikats were created solely with natural dyes. The ikat process used in these textiles are an entirely hand crafted technique from start to finish. The Indonesian culture is renown and celebrated for their expertise in weaving and for their fine ikat craftsmanship in particular. Many of these kinds of Indonesian ikats are in museums and personal collections worldwide. LoU's collection is a magnificent one indeed.
