LoU's Batiks.. sarongs, norens, tables cloths, etc.
LoU spent much of the last part of the 20th century and into the 21st creating incredible one of a kind batik works of art. Working with master dye houses and craftsmen on the island of Java, the original sarongs and norens he created are true collectible treasures from the collection. LoU also incorporated these batiks into shirts and later these were transformed into one of a kind pillows, masks and dharma bags aka: gender-neutral shoulder bags. All of these exquisite batiks are made from 100% cotton and incorporating natural indigo & soga dyes. Eco-friendly & sustainable textile art that is lightweight and soft to the touch.
All of LoU's batiks are machine washable if desired. Due to the hand crafted and natural dye processes, no two batiks are exactly alike and there will be occasional inconsistencies due to the hand made process. We do recommend gentle hand washing & hang dry as well as keeping them away from direct sunlight to avoid fading. All of his sarongs, norens & handkerchief / napkins have LoU's signature in traditional Javanese writing.
